Graduated ...

Margaret Stevens PPSBA awarding Diploma with Distinction

Gosh I'm way behind in updating my blog ... it's been well over a month since my last post and probably one of the busiest months ever!  I've only just returned from my graduation and our anniversary holiday overseas so there's a lot to catch up on.

One of the places we visited was of course London - the timing for our holiday centred around my Graduation from the Society of Botanical Artists Distance Learning Diploma Course

"The Language of Flowers'  exhibition which coincided with our Graduation date was in full swing in London and a huge array of botanical artworks were on show ... it was an absolute privilege to see this wonderful exhibit - particularly after completing the course and the realisation of just how much effort it takes to produce the accuracy and detail needed.

Photos of diploma pieces before being sent away for judging and final marks.

Two of my final diploma works were chosen to be framed and exhibited in the SBA DLDC section - amongst many great works by fellow students.   I was ecstatic to receive a Distinction for my final mark!

It was a wonderful surprise and I am very appreciative of the support and encouragement I received right until the very end.  A highlight was meeting up with many of the friends made over the duration of the course ... I am in awe of the level of work being produced by the students.

Vicki Lee Johnston DipSBA (Dist)

For now I would especially like to thank my wonderful husband for his constant enthusiasm and support, could not have done it without you x  My beautiful kids for putting up with me during the chaos of assignment deadlines ... my mother and extended family for understanding how important it is to me ... and my friends from around the world who share my passion for botanical art.
Art can be a lonely road - having a strong foundation and support around you makes the journey so much more enjoyable.
