The
Acacia aphylla - Leafless Rock Wattle - is an endangered
species and I was lucky enough to find a plant growing in my habitat
.... while it looks something of a bare naked lady I find it graceful
and elegant and a nice change from painting leaves ... the colour is
quite remarkable.

The assignment is now well on its way to London and hopefully the tutor will enjoy these strange plants indigenous to my home state. I certainly have a new appreciation for them and for field study work. Hope to be doing a lot more of these studies ....
Thanks for posting the photo of the Acacia aphylla, I had no idea the plant is so big! Your field studies pictures are brilliant, look forward to see more of them in the future! And good luck to the traveling assignment, fingers cross all goes well. You'll get great marks for it, I have no doubt!

DeleteI am inspired to do more of these as well, Vicki! I really enjoyed this assignment even though it was the most challenging one yet. You did a great job on your final piece, and it is interesting to see your plant portraits next to a photo of the real thing. It makes me appreciate your work all the more!

DeleteWell done with getting this one complete - I know how much work this assignment needs and you can see you've put it in when you look at how beautiful your final piece is. I love that Eucalyptus! One of my favourite trees is the Silk Tree (Albizia julibrissin) and this Eucalyptus reminds me off it. I love fluffy, pink flowers!
