One of the most difficult things for me to do when learning to be a
botanical artist is to be disciplined enough to study and spend the time
needed to understand the unique requirements of this intricately
beautiful art.
There never seems enough 'spare' time to set aside to
achieve the knowledge to further develop the necessary skills. I joined
the Botanical Artists Group online and met a wonderful group of
welcoming, warm and encouraging artists who were happy to support others
on their journey.
I was made aware of the worldwide distance Diploma Course available with the Society of Botanical Artists in the UK - so I submitted a few pieces of artwork and to my surprise was accepted to commence 27 months of study and discpline to achieve the results needed to achieve the Diploma.
It was an exciting day when a large box arrived on the doorstep with everything needed to complete the course. The hard part is now putting the many hours in of practise and study to gain the results needed. Really looking forward to it!
